
Whether it’s weekend vibes or the mid week slump Waffles should be on the menu!
I’m all about having a sweet yummy treat because we all need that sometimes. I do however always try and create a healthier option.
These waffles are fluffy and delicious. I love how super fast you can whip them up and they carry a nutritious punch.
This recipe is totally customizable which I feel is so important too. If you absolutely love chocolate then go ahead and add more protein powder or cacao. You can use whatever flour you have accessible to you. I prefer using my homemade oat flour in order to make them more whole food plant based. I just take a regular bag of organic oats and grind them up in batches in my blender. I then store the flour in large airtight mason jars. It’s always ready to use and is my preferred flour.
I love how this recipe will also insure that I’m getting in some extra protein easily. A protein packed snack keeps me feeling full during my very busy days.
Toppings are another thing that is customizable. You can just drizzle pure maple syrup on the waffles or you can go all out on toppings. To jazz them up you might want to add chopped fresh fruit like strawberries or add antioxidant rich blueberries. You can toss on chopped nuts for some healthy fats too. The options are endless!
I just want to say that these waffles are the perfect travel snack on the go too! I love eating them plain because they taste great just like that. It’s a great fuss free snack on the go! I will be making a ton of these to bring with me on road trips.
Having healthy options like this on a long car or plane trip is critical for me. I want to keep my nutrition on point and save money too. It’s extremely costly to eat out and the limited options get tiresome.

Best Ever Protein Chocolate Waffles!
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups Oat Flour
4-6 Tbsp. Cacao Powder or Carob Powder
2 1/2 -3/4 cups Plant based Milk (it will get thicker the longer it sits. I use 2 1/2 cups and keep extra in case I need it.)
1 tsp. Apple cider vinegar
4 Tbsp. Agave Syrup
3 tsp. Baking Powder
1 Tbsp. Flaxmeal
Pinch of salt
Dash of pure Vanilla Extract
2 scoops of Chocolate Protein Powder
Method:
1. Preheat waffle iron
2. Mix the flour, baking powder, protein powder,pinch of salt,cacao powder and flax meal in a large bowl.
3. In another bowl add the milk, vanilla extract,agave, and the apple cider vinegar. Mix well.
4. Add the wet ingredients into the dry and combine well.
5. Add the batter to the waffle iron and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Optional: Top with fresh sliced fruit, maple syrup or anything else you would like to jazz up your waffles with.
