Berry Bake Goodness!

Hi everyone! Happy Monday!

I just wanted to share another easy recipe with you all. I posted a quick little video on YouTube for this super easy recipe!

This recipe for my healthy Berry Bake has simple ingredients that many of us have on hand. I’m a mom of five and I can’t stand fussy recipes with loads of ingredients that are hard to find! It takes me 5 minutes to throw all the ingredients together for this Berry Bake! Those are the kind of recipes I need in my life! I’m sure you will appreciate them if you’re pressed for time with your busy schedule too.

I listed all the ingredients and quantities in the YouTube video description for you. You can also substitute chopped up fruit that you might need to use up instead of the berries. I pretty much tried every combination and everything has worked well. This is another reason why I make this Bake often. I can make sure I use up all my fruit, even if it’s not at its freshest. Nothing bothers me more than throwing good food in the trash! Let me know what fruit combinations you try in the comments below.

Happiness Is Me Time!

When was the last time you did something for yourself? When was the last time you put yourself and your well-being first? If you can’t remember … well that’s a big problem.

How can you care for others or work optimally if your running on fumes? Why do people feel guilty for taking time for themselves? I was once that person. I thought if I took time for myself then I wouldn’t get my endless list of things I had to do accomplished. I felt like spending money on things I didn’t really have to do or really need was wasteful.

I learned that I had to make the time for “me time” because guess what? It actually makes me a better parent when I do so. I feel happy, rested, energized, confident and more patient.

I also learned that simple things are all I need to be content. I love going to the book store on days off for a bit, getting my nails or hair done, grabbing a coffee or lunch with a friend, sitting in the sunshine in the summer, tending to my veggie garden, taking a walk, listening to a podcast or just relaxing at home catching up on Coronation Street with a coffee.

Until a few years ago I didn’t even know what “me time” looked like once you were a parent. I was a stay at home mom for years when my first children were small and I never, ever did anything for myself. I look back at those days and wonder how I got through them. Always alone, never putting myself first and never having a break from parenthood. I thought taking a shower without children in the bathroom was “me time” back then. That only happened on the rare occasion lol.

I now know that making the time for ourselves is vital to our health and wellness. Even a one hour coffee break can create a new you!

Schedule out pockets of time where you can sneak some quality time in for yourself. If you schedule it then your more likely to stick to it!

Release the guilt about putting yourself first because the only person your hurting is yourself. You are worth being made a priority too. You deserve to be pampered from time to time. You should buy yourself that book your being called to purchase. If you feel like you should then from my experience there is a lesson to be learned from it. Perhaps that book is exactly what you need to read at this moment in your life. Nothing in life is a coincidence.

I’d love it if you tried scheduling in your “me time” starting next week. A new week = A fresh start! Once you start making time for yourself it will become a habit. Before you know it, your scheduled in gym time and coffee date with your bestie will become the norm. Let me know in the comments below what you enjoy doing and how it’s improved your life!

I hope the new week brings you health, happiness and success!
